Resources

• Identification. Photo ID, Social Security cards or ITIN letters for everyone on the return, and your prior year’s return if you are new to the firm.
• Income. W-2s, 1099s of any kind, and records of any other income received.
• Deductions and credits. Mortgage interest and property tax, charitable contributions, medical expenses, education and tuition, childcare provider details, and health insurance statements.
• Other. Bank details for direct deposit, any notices received, and records of estimated payments made.

• Prior year’s business return
• Profit and loss statement and balance sheet
• Bank and credit card statements for all business accounts
• Payroll records and payroll tax filings
• Records of major purchases, sales, or disposals of equipment
• Loan statements and interest paid
• Vehicle mileage logs
• Records of owner draws or distributions
• Any notices received

• Prior two years of tax returns
• Identification for everyone who will appear on the return
• Current year income documents as they arrive
• Any correspondence received from a taxing authority
• The name of the person who referred you, if applicable

• Intended business name and two alternatives
• Business address
• Names, addresses, and identification for all owners
• Ownership percentages
• A description of what the business will do
• Intended start date
